What a night! On the 15th October Herbert Smith Freehills generously hosted the official launch of “Career Interrupted – How 14 Successful Women Navigate Career Breaks” in their sensational offices overlooking the Melbourne CBD. Over 100 corporate guests and friends heard Jerrill Rechter, CEO of VicHealth officially launch the Career Interrupted. Kate Jenkins, Victoria’s Equal Opportunity & Human Rights Commissioner spoke via video, outlining the importance of the issues raised in Career Interrupted for employees considering taking career breaks and employers wishing to create a supportive workplace. The panellists, Jerril Rechter, Lisa Croxford, Capability Development Manager at Herbert Smith Freehills and Lucinda Nolan, Deputy Police Commissioner with the Victorian Police all shared their experiences around taking career breaks, the difficulties they faced and the lessons they learned.
