Issues
The department had introduced a 360-degree assessment process to their Executive, Senior Technical Specialists and Grade 6 Officers as part of its Leadership and Management Development Program. The department was not satisfied with the tool designed by another consulting firm.
Solution
Norah assisted the department in designing a more relevant diagnostic tool, based on the Department’s values and identified behaviours. Over a three-year period Norah provided coaching services to around 30 individuals within the department, up to and including the Secretary. This included administering a 360-degree assessment process to all participants, debriefing their managers (including the Premier), coaching each participant around the results and assisting in the creation of individual development plans.
Outcomes
Each participant developed a greater self-awareness of their strengths and opportunities for improvement. Individuals possessed relevant and targeted data around their strengths, weaknesses and development needs, enabling them to prepare annual development plans and to track progress over a 4-year period.
